Come on in and sit a spell with me.
My life's stories, ponderings, weird revelations, and whatever I'm unraveling.
Luanne Haygood | Stories, Ponderings & Such is where I share personal stories, ponderings, life reflections, big questions, and whatever else I’m unraveling. I’ve learned that one of the ways I make it through hard situations is by finding the humor in them—and then sharing the story. Not always, of course. Sometimes you have to cry your way through some shit. But I’ve also learned that there’s something about telling the story afterward that brings some light to myself and others. I’ve always been a storyteller. I can take a tragic situation, find the ridiculous little details hiding inside it, and somehow make people laugh or feel heard. And somewhere along the way, I realized that telling the story doesn’t just help me. It seems to help other people, too. People have been telling me for years that I should write a book. That sounds lovely in theory, but the thought of actually writing a book is fucking daunting. So instead, I write in journals. I tell stories to my friends. I send people long messages when something has gotten me thinking. I collect little moments and questions and experiences because I never know when one of them might be exactly what someone else needs to hear. So this is where I’m putting them. The stories. The questions. The weird stuff. The things I’ve learned the hard way. The things I’m still learning. The moments that made me laugh when I probably should have been crying. And the ones that made me realize that maybe I wasn’t the only person who had ever felt that way. Maybe something I write will cheer you up. Maybe it will give you hope. Maybe you’ll recognize yourself in one of my stories and realize you’re not as alone as you thought. Because there’s something I’ve gotten pretty damn tired of seeing online: everybody’s curated life. Perfect pictures. Perfect houses. Perfect relationships. Perfect families. Perfect vacations. Perfect everything. Meanwhile, real life is messy as hell. So I’m going to put some of mine out there. And just so we’re clear—I use AI. Some of the images on this site are AI-generated. I’m not going to pretend otherwise. Honestly, AI did a damn good job recreating my backyard, though. It’s about 95% dead-on accurate. 😂 But the life behind the pictures is mine. The stories are mine. The experiences are mine. The questions are mine. And the words are mine—AI helps me organize them as I spew them out. This is my voice, my perspective, my messy collection of experiences, and the way I make sense of the world. I’m not trying to create a perfectly curated version of myself online. I’m trying to do the opposite. At this age, I really don’t give a fuck anymore about making myself smaller so somebody else can be comfortable with me. Thus my colorful language I like to use. People are going to judge me. I can’t stop that. But I can stop letting the possibility of being judged make me hide. So here I am. Uncurated. Still figuring shit out. Telling the stories anyway. Maybe one of them will make you laugh. Maybe one will make you think. Maybe one will make you feel a little less alone. That would be enough for me.
